Why they sound alike
Natalie La Rose's Somebody (released January 6, 2015 and featuring Jeremih) appropriates not only part of the title to Whitney Houston's I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me) (released April 30, 1987), but half of the chorus vocal hook. While , and others indicate that La Rose's Somebody "interpolates" Houston's hit, I could not find any official attribution to IWDwS's composers George Merrill Shannon Rubicam, nor its producer Narada Michael Walden.,

UPDATE: According to , , Rose and Flo Rida cleared the Houston sample:, After getting approval to use the sample, Jeremih went into the studio to sing the hook, and later shot the '80s-inspired video with La Rose.
