I was being pessimistic. I didn't know it was there until the London screening. The turnaround was very quick. It was written in a day, recorded the day after, and arrived at the dub in Cardiff the day after that. It was inspired by David Tennant and the sense that the new Doctor would be a happier, less troubled Doctor, When David comes through the door, the look on his face, returned by Billie, was magical and made my job much easier. I went to Dublin in September 2006 to meet Neil Hannon. I've always loved his work. He writes brilliant, witty songs and has one of those voices: classic, rich, and resonant. Personally I think he's the best singer around and would say he was underrated if I didn't know that so many people rated him right at the very top of the pile.
